Price: £10.99/not available in the US
My Colour:  Porcelain
Claims: "Max Factor Facefinity Compact is Max Factor's longest lasting foundation for great coverage all day."
Rating: 4/5 stars

This has been my go-to foundation since I first started using make up all those years ago. My mum first introduced me to it and she has also been using it for years and years.

Packaging

The compact comes exactly as you can see in the pictures above - with no outer packaging. This could be seen as a plus as it allows you to see the colour of the product along with being able to see that it comes with a rectangular sponge and a larger sized mirror. However, I've had a few incidences where I've bought this products from places like Boots and Superdrugs and came home only to open the compact and find its been used. The fact that it has no secure packaging makes it very easy for people to swatch the product itself instead of using the tester and, in some cases, steal the sponges (something I will never be able to understand, just, why?)

PROS: Easy to fit in handbag, able to see product inside due to no outer packaging, great mirror for on-the-go, packaging looks sleek and sophisticated.
CONS: Product is too easy to get into so people swatch it before they buy, sponge can be stolen, mirror gets dirty quickly.

Consistency, Coverage and Finish

Being extremely fair skinned myself, I find it very difficult to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. This compact is the closest match I've found. This foundation is a powder compact, however the finish doesn't come of cakey and powdery at all and has an almost creamy texture. It looks very natural on my skin and I've even had people come up to me and say "Emma, are you wearing foundation?" and when I've replied "Yes" they can't believe it because it acts almost as a 'second skin' foundation. The only problem I have with this product is that it doesn't have much staying power - which goes against its claims. Although it wears off well and doesn't go patchy, it leaves you with almost no product on the skin after a few hours. Therefore, if you're the kind of person who doesn't have good skin and needs good a long lasting foundation without having to touch up this may not be for you, but a good primer may be able to help. However it can be used as a great setting powder for liquid and cream foundations and you wont hit pan for at least 3 months.

PROS: Great for oily skin due to it being a powder, good colour match, not cakey, product lasts in the pan a long time.
CONS: Not a great colour range for darker skin tones and wears off easily.

Best Application?

The product comes with a rectangular sponge which is suggested to be the best application, and this is the method I use. I feel like using the sponge gives me a fuller coverage, whilst still allowing my freckles to be slightly seen (which would be seen as a medium coverage) and I feel it is easier to apply this way. The only problem with using the sponge is that you would need to clean it frequently in order to keep it bacteria free and persistent use can cause the sponge to break. However, if you're looking for a lighter coverage it you could use a brush (I recommend the Real Techniques Buffing Brush - http://tinyurl.com/crgdg3n)

PROS: Coverage can be altered for your preference, comes with a sponge, easy application.
CONS: Sponge isn't the cleanliest option and can break easily.

A picture of me wearing the foundation:

In my opinion, this is a great foundation and I use it every single day. The only drawback is its staying power, but given the fact its a compact it is easy to take on the go for touch ups and so that isn't too much of a problem. I would say it's more of a daytime foundation (I use a max factor cream foundation when going out in the evenings and to special events). One thing I forgot to mention is the fact that it has never broken me out or given me any kind of blemish, even when I forget to take it off at night. In some ways I think it's even improved my skin, if that's possible! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

Thanks for reading!
