Rating: 5/5 stars

I've been following the story of Caitlyn Jenner’s transition since she came out in her Diane Sawyer interview. Her courage, bravery and perseverance is something to be admired, and when she partnered with MAC to bring out her 'Finally Free' lipstick, I was more than happy to support her. The colour is an absolutely gorgeous ‘midtone rosey nude’ with a creme sheen texture, and all proceeds (less VAT) benefit the transgender community, in whichever country you buy it in.

The packaging for the lipstick isn’t that special at all, which is slightly disappointing as this is supporting such a great cause it would’ve made sense to make it a beautiful limited edition product to implore more people to buy it. The lipstick comes in the usual black MAC packaging and black bullet. The only other thing I would mention is that this lipstick is only available online, which could be seen as a drawback but when I ordered it the process was very quick and simple AND I got a free sample of the MAC Prep + Prime Primer with it, and hey, who doesn't love freebies?

PROS: Sleek, professional looking packaging.
CONS: Slightly boring packaging, would’ve been nice to have something that stands out a bit more. Doesn’t differentiate it from any other MAC lipstick. Only available to order online, but not too much of a big deal.

Consistency, Coverage and Finish

The consistency is GORGEOUS. I’ve always loved MAC lipsticks with cremesheen formulas, they just glide on so smoothly and keep your lips feeling moisturised throughout the day, and this lipstick is no exception. It is a lovely “your lips but better” rosey shade, making it very wearable and suitable to any skin tone in my opinion. It’s not overly bright or bold, it’s just the perfect everyday lip colour. The colour is opaque and wears well throughout the day, I didn’t notice any flaking, patching or staining. It weared about as well as any lipstick does without having any exceptional staying power (i.e matte or liquid lipsticks), but it wears off well and is easily touched up throughout the day or night.

PROS: Creamy, soft consistency. Lips feel moisturised. A perfect everyday wearable shade, but can be dressed up for night time. Suitable for any skin tone. Wears really well.
CONS: The only thing I could possibly say is a con about this lipstick is that it doesn’t last all day without touching up, but that’s to be expected with any cremesheen or non-staining lipstick.

Final Thoughts:

All in all, I think this is a fantastic everyday lipstick for any skin tone. It looks beautiful, wears well and kept my lips feeling soft and moisturised. Plus, all of the proceeds go to an amazing cause that helps millions of people all over the world that need our support, what's there not to love? I definitely recommend, 5 stars for Caitlyn Jenner and MAC!
